Portal Keys – Privacy Policy (iOS App)
Last updated: December 13, 2025
1. Who we are
Portal Keys is a personal practice app that helps you work with empowering questions (“Portal Keys”). This Privacy Policy explains how the **iOS app** handles your data.
2. What data the app stores
Right now, Portal Keys works completely on-device:
- Your Portal Keys (questions you create)
- Your reminder times and notification preferences
- Basic settings (like your preferred name and theme mode)
This information is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s app storage mechanisms (such as AsyncStorage/NSUserDefaults-level storage).
3. What we do not collect
From inside the app, we do not:
- Create user accounts or require you to log in
- Collect or store your Portal Keys on our own servers
- Sell or share your Portal Keys with advertisers
- Track your in-app behavior for ad targeting
If we add optional cloud backup or analytics in the future, this policy will be updated and clearly explained in-app.
4. Notifications
If you enable reminders, the app will schedule local notifications on your device at the times you choose.
- Notifications are handled by Apple’s system.
- You can change or revoke permission at any time in your iOS Settings.
We do not “read” the content of the notifications on any external servers.
5. Third-party services
This app is built with tools like:
- Apple’s iOS frameworks
- Expo / React Native libraries
- Apple’s App Store infrastructure and crash reporting
These platforms may collect device or diagnostic data as part of how iOS apps work in general (for example, crash logs or anonymized usage reports, if you have those features enabled at the OS level). We do not directly control all of that data collection, but we do not add extra tracking on top of it.
6. Children
Portal Keys is not designed for children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has entered personal information into the app, you can contact us at [your email] to discuss options.
7. Data retention and deletion
Because we do not store your data on our servers, deleting the app from your phone will also delete your Portal Keys and settings from your device’s local storage.
We do not have the ability to recover your data once it is deleted from your device.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how Portal Keys handles data (for example, by adding optional sync or analytics), we will:
- Update this Privacy Policy, and
- Update the “Last updated” date at the top, and
- Explain changes clearly in-app or on our website.
